"Preserved Mustangs in Europe" by Martin Powell
A recent set of articles in the magazine, Flypast, gave details of the various Mustangs that have appeared in this country in recent years. As I have been keeping note on the subject for some time I have expanded their listings and added aircraft noted in Europe. I have stretched the boundaries of Europe a little to include Israel as that country has been an important source of aircraft. The information in the table gives the following information: |
US serial |
Subsequent identities |
Model number |
Notes, including current location (where Known) |
C/n |
Any additional information is very welcome. Sources used include: Flypast; Aeroplane Monthly; Warbirds Today; Air-Britain News; Warbirds Directory by John Chapman and Geoff Goodall; Mustang Survivors by Paul Cogan; Wrecks & Relics by Ken Ellis; European Wrecks & Relics by Otter van deer Koori; Aircraft Museums & Collections of the World (8 volumes) by Bob Ogden; USA Military Out Of Service and World Military Out of Service, both by Andy Marden.
